Texo Privacy Policy
Draft for legal review. Not yet in effect.
Effective date: [NEED: launch date]
Last updated: October 13, 2026
The short version
- You sign in with your phone number. There’s no password and no email address.
- You send Texo photos and text: flyers, forms, bills, messages. Texo reads them and helps you keep track of what needs doing.
- Each household gets its own private Texo. People in your household can see what’s shared there. No other family can.
- Texo never trains AI on your family’s data. We never sell it, and we never show you ads.
- Texo can’t pay anyone or move money. Nothing is saved to your list until someone in your household taps Save.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from the app.
1. Introduction
Texo is an AI agent that helps a household keep track of the details of family life. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run Texo, how long we keep things, and how you stay in control. If anything here is unclear, email us at [NEED: contact email, e.g. legal@texoai.co] and we’ll answer you directly.
Texo is owned and operated by Abba Agency [NEED: legal form, e.g. LLC, and state of formation] (“Abba Agency”), the company behind Texo, in the United States. When this policy says “we” or “us”, it means Abba Agency. This policy covers the Texo apps for iPhone and Android, the web app at app.texoai.co and the website at texoai.co.
2. Information we collect
Things you give us
- Your phone number. We use it to create your account and sign you in with a one-time code sent by text message.
- Your name, so people in your household know who’s who.
- Your household. Its name, who’s in it (by name and phone number), who invited whom, and the household’s time zone, which your device sets so “today” means your today.
- People you mention. Names and details about your kids or other family members that you type in or that appear in what you send. See section 10.
- What you send Texo. Photos (taken in the app or chosen from your photo library) and text you type or paste. This is the heart of Texo: school flyers, permission slips, schedules, bills, receipts, forms, screenshots of messages, and notes.
Things Texo creates from what you send
- Texo’s replies. What it found, the action steps, drafts it wrote for you (like a note to a teacher), and its questions.
- Saved items. When someone taps Save, the items go on your household’s list: titles, dates and times, places, amounts and due dates, action steps, who added them, who’s handling them, and whether they’re done.
Things collected automatically
- Basic service logs. Our hosting providers record technical events (for example, that a request happened and whether it worked) so we can keep Texo running and fix problems. Our rules say these logs must not contain your messages, photos, or personal details.
- Purchase status, if you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play (see section 4). We never see or store your card number.
Things we don’t collect
Unless you add one for the digest (section 4), we don’t collect your email address, contacts list, precise location, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. Texo has no advertising or ad-tracking code, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
3. How we use your information
We use your information only to run Texo for you and your household:
- to sign you in and keep your account secure
- to read what you send and reply with what matters, what to do, and by when
- to keep your household’s list and conversation in one place for everyone in it
- to answer your questions about your week
- to provide support when you ask for it
- to keep Texo safe, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations
Texo never uses your family’s data to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s. We don’t sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising.
Your phone number. We use your phone number only to sign you in and, if you join one, to connect you to your household. We send you sign-in codes by text message. We don’t send marketing texts. If you turn on text digests (coming later), we text you only the digest you chose, and only after you agree to it on a separate screen. Reply STOP to any digest text to end them. We will not sell, share or transfer your phone number to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. Message and data rates may apply to sign-in codes.
4. Who we share it with
We share the minimum needed with these service providers. Each one may use your data only to provide its service to us.
| Provider | What they do for Texo | What they handle |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Accounts, sign-in, and your household’s saved items | Your phone number, name, household, and saved items |
| Cloudflare | Runs Texo’s agent and the Texo web app. Each household’s Texo, including its conversation and the photos sent in it, is stored in that household’s own private space on Cloudflare. | Everything you send Texo and its replies |
| Anthropic (Claude) | The AI model that reads what you send and writes Texo’s replies | What you send and the conversation, at the moment Texo works on it. Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, it doesn’t use this data to train its models. [NEED: confirm Anthropic’s current API terms and data retention period at launch] |
| Twilio | Sends your sign-in codes | Your phone number and the code |
| Apple App Store / Google Play | Subscription billing, if you subscribe | Purchase and subscription status |
Only when you turn them on (coming later):
- Google Calendar. If you connect it, Texo reads and adds calendar events you approve. Your connection key is stored encrypted inside your household’s private Texo and nowhere else.
- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service), if you allow reminders.
- A forward-to-Texo email address (Cloudflare Email Service), if you use it.
- The digest by email (Cloudflare Email Service), if you turn it on. You add and confirm an email address in Settings for this, and you can unsubscribe from any digest email with one click.
- The digest by text (Twilio), if you turn it on. We keep a record of your consent and of any opt-out, and we never override an opt-out. Digest texts leave out amounts and private details, because texts show on lock screens.
We’ll update this policy before any of these goes live.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person or the security of Texo. Unless the law forbids it, we’ll tell you when a request is about your account.
5. Your household
A household is everyone who has joined it by phone number.
- Everyone in the household can see the household’s conversation with Texo (including photos anyone sent), and all the items saved to its list.
- Any member can mark an item done or say who’s handling it. Only the person who added an item can edit it.
- Household owners can invite and remove people. Removing someone stops their access from then on. It doesn’t erase what they already saw.
Only invite people you trust with what you send to Texo.
Your household is walled off from every other household. Each household has its own private Texo, and our database only lets members read their own household’s records. We test this wall before every database change goes live.
6. Data security
- Every connection to Texo is encrypted, and stored data is encrypted by our providers.
- Each household has its own private Texo, and every request is checked against your household membership before it reaches it.
- Our database lets each household read only its own records, and we test that wall before every database change.
- Texo’s AI can use only a short list of approved tools. None of them can send messages or move money.
- Sign-in uses a one-time code sent to your phone, so there’s no password to steal.
- Inside Texo, people don’t look at your household’s content unless you ask us to for support.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we’ll tell you as the law requires.
7. Data retention
- Photos you send are kept for 7 days on the Texo plan, and longer on Texo Plus and Premium [NEED: paid-plan photo retention, suggested 1 year and 2 years (ADR-007)]. After that the photo is deleted, and what Texo pulled out of it (the items, dates, amounts and steps) stays. Anyone can delete a photo they sent sooner.
- Messages nobody saved are deleted automatically 90 days after they were sent.
- Saved items stay on your household’s list while your household uses Texo, until someone deletes them or you delete your account.
- Your account details are kept while your account is open.
- Service logs are kept for a short time by our hosting providers. [NEED: confirm Cloudflare and Supabase log retention periods]
- When you delete your account, we delete your data as described in section 9.
8. Your privacy rights
- See and correct. Your list and conversation are in the app. You can edit items you added.
- Get a copy. Email us and we’ll send you a copy of your data.
- Delete. Delete your whole account in the app (section 9).
- State privacy rights. Depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states), you may have rights to know, access, correct or delete your personal information, and to not be treated differently for using those rights. We don’t sell or “share” personal information for advertising as those laws define it. Email us to use any of these rights. Standard requests are free.
9. Deleting your account
Go to Settings → Delete account in the app and type DELETE to confirm. You can also start this on the web at app.texoai.co/delete-account, without installing the app.
When you delete your account, we delete:
- your account and sign-in record
- your membership in your household, and items you added
- if you’re the last person in your household: the household itself, its whole conversation with Texo, every photo sent in it, its saved items, and any connected accounts (which we disconnect)
If other people are still in your household, the household’s shared conversation and the items others added stay with them. [NEED: confirm this is the intended behavior for messages and photos you sent into a shared household]
We may keep a minimal record of purchases where tax or accounting law requires it. Apple and Google keep their own billing records under their own policies.
10. Children’s privacy
Texo is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and children can’t have Texo accounts.
Parents use Texo to keep track of things about their kids: a field trip form, a game schedule, a picture day order. That information comes from the parent, not from the child. We protect it like everything else in this policy: it’s never sold, never used for advertising, never used to train AI, and it’s deleted when you delete your account. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 13. If you think a child has made a Texo account, email us and we’ll delete it.
11. AI-specific provisions
Texo is an AI agent. Here is exactly how the AI works and where its limits are:
- Nothing is saved without a tap. Texo suggests items. They go on your list only when someone in your household taps Save.
- Nothing leaves your household without your OK. Today Texo can’t send messages, invites or emails at all. When features like that arrive, each one will wait for your approval.
- Texo never pays or moves money. It tells you how, where and by when to pay. It can’t pay anyone.
- Texo takes direction only from your household. If a photo or forwarded message contains instructions, Texo treats them as text to read, not orders to follow.
- Texo never trains AI on your family’s data. Not ours, and not our AI provider’s. We don’t use your content, even anonymized or aggregated, to train or improve AI models.
- AI can make mistakes. Texo is designed to say what it couldn’t read instead of guessing, but a person should check important dates and amounts against the original. See our Terms of Service.
- No automated decisions about you. Texo doesn’t make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. It suggests, and a person in your household decides.
12. Compliance with applicable laws
Abba Agency is based in the United States, and Texo stores and processes data in the United States and wherever our service providers (section 4) operate. We follow the U.S. privacy laws that apply to us, including state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (see section 10).
Texo is offered to people in the United States. [NEED: confirm whether Texo will be offered outside the U.S.; if so, add GDPR/UK GDPR terms (legal bases, data transfers, EU representative) before launch]
13. Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before it takes effect.
